Day 8 - the architect

e spotted this little guy this morning... with a little help from the good ol' spray bottle, I was able to get a few pics. However, it was breezy and there was no easy way to get the web to stay still. So I was disappointed with the shots... here is what came of it:

Day 7 - squirrel friend

One benefit of living in a woodsy area is that the animals frolic freely in the yard. I know a lot of people that hate squirrels, but I think they are super cute. And fun to take pics of. On Sunday, we were building the desk and bookcase for the office, and outside of the window, I saw this cute little guy snag a mushroom and run up onto the tree to feast. Not too bad for being taken through a window AND screen...

Day 6 - a colorful day

I am posting this a day late, but I do swear that these pics were taken yesterday! :) So, in the morning, I woke up when e went to work and got ready... Old Navy was having a huge summer sale, including flip-flops for ONE DOLLAR! I got some awesome deals, including jeans for cheap, and other wonderful finds. It actually turned into a shopping spree! Stacy came with me, and helped me get flip-flops in every color... See, the trick was, whenever everyone was fighting over the ones that were left in the women's section, the girls and boys sections were untouched. Fair game. So, I found all of the colors I wanted, while everyone else was pretending it was black friday. I have never seen lines so long. Rediculous. Almost as rediculous as my new collection of flips! :) :)

My new friend! I saw him toddling along when I went out to greet e from work:

The ice cream maker does not work as great as I had anticipated... :( But it makes for good artwork.

I took pics for TODAY too, but those I will put up tomorrow. Time for Design Star.

Day 5 - wash before using

Just call me Martha Stewart... my new ice cream maker arrived today! :) I wanted to be able to make healthy ice cream, (an oxymoron, yes?) so we will see if this works. Directions say to "wash the cansiter thoroughly with lukewarm, soapy water before first use." Lovin the hot pink color! :) Hopefully it works just as well as it did on tv. I am becoming a QVC addict. That's what summer in the house will do to ya!

Day 4 - flower power!

Today was a work day for summer school. It was a nice change of pace to get out of the house and actually do something productive. On my way home, I pulled into the driveway and noticed that E's day lillies had bloomed this morning! (e plants 'em, i photog 'em.) So, I got these pics of the colorful petals. Also, FYI, I looked up the parts of the flower because I got confused on which was the pistil and which was the stamen. Well, the middle part of the flower (the long green thing sticking out) is the pistil. The stamen are the pollen pods on the ends of those little sprouts. Yes, I teach 5th grade science, but that is a 4th grade standard. I know nothing about the sex of plants, thankyouverymuch.

When e's parents came down in May, they brought a few of erin's grandmother's hostas with them. They have rooted and are blooming. I love when they get the pretty purple flowers :)

Day 3 - pep pats

Ok, so my favorite candy in the universe is York Peppermint Patties. ("pep pats" for short, in case you didnt know...) And, Babycat L-O-V-E-S the foil that they are wrapped in. No joke, if she hears you unwrapping the candy from anywhere in the house, she will come running and leap into your lap, waiting for you to throw the ball of foil so that she can bat it around. She even carries it in her mouth. It is quite amusing. (and cute beyond belief!) so anyways, for the latest bag o' pep-pats, i have started a foil ball that consists of the wrappings from every single piece. (Ok, so, it only takes me like, 5 days to get through the bag) Here is a pic of the big ball of foil, and I still have three left to add to it. Babycat is going to be one happy cat... haha. i am a dork.

Day 2 - babycat monroe

Today's highlight was BC sitting in the window. I was alone again, and bored. I hate being in the house by myself. And I am unmotivated to get out and do anything. Whatev. I think its pms. Regardless, here is proof that Babycat is actually Marilyn Monroe reincarnated :)

Day 1 : again.

Today was quite boring; as summer has begun, i have done all of my cleaning, e is at work, and i am bored. sooooo.... what better time than now to pick up the camera and get serious about this one-a-day thing that i neglected to work on a few months ago. Here is a little shroom that was growing outside of the office window. too cute... i couldn't just pick one for today:

And Rage was outside to help as well... I have been working with RAW images, and a bit of editing software to make things look a little better:

Definitely a lot of practice ahead for the summer!

Let's see if my consistency can prevail....
